  • Moving Desks from Rows to Groups

When students desks are lined up in rows and you want to move the desks into groups for group activities, here is a great idea submitted by *star* in the Staffroom that I've altered slightly.

Have some different coloured cards (depending on how many groups you will need) laminated that you can use many times. Blue-tac a coloured card to the corner of each desk. When it's group time, ask the student to move their own desks to match up with other desks of the same colour. You can place the coloured cards wherever you choose - depending on how easily you want the students to organise their desks, or who you want them to work with.

After a couple of tries, the students will very quickly learn the process and be able to do it much quicker.
