Welcome to The Classroom!

... where teachers do what they do best - TEACH!

Classroom Management Tip

KEEPING TRACK OF STUDENT WORKBOOKS

If your students always seem to be losing their class workbooks, consider keeping them in a central location as a class set - cardboard magazine holders are perfect to store a class set of work books. When you want to take a maths lesson you only have to grab the maths box. When students have finished their work, they can place it back into the maths box and you can conveniently carry the box around for marking.

Behaviour Management Tip

ACKNOWLEDGE
APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR

"Effective teachers acknowledge the appropriate behaviour of a child who is in close proximity to the targeted child. The appropriate behaviour acts as a model and acknowledging it acts as a positive cue for the child who has not followed the teacher's instructions. The closer the ackowledged behaviour to the targeted child, the greater the effect."

Site Message:

For those teachers who have their own classroom it will no doubt reflect a great deal on your own personality and hopefully this virtual classroom will develop as a combination of a wide range of teacher's personalities. If you have anything you would like to contribute to this site, please let me know. The more contributions of photos, teaching ideas, articles and experiences AusTeachers receives, the better this classroom will be for everyone who enters.

Any contributions, photos, ideas can be sent to AusTeachers.
